Check your inbox for an email from Canva with a subject line like “[Name] has invited you to collaborate” or “You’ve been invited to join [Team Name] on Canva.”

Click the button inside the email — it will say something like “Accept Invite” or “Open in Canva.” This button is time-sensitive; Canva invite links typically expire after 7 days if not acted on.

Log in or create an account. If you already have a Canva account using the same email the invite was sent to, you’ll land directly in the shared design or workspace. If you’re new, you’ll be prompted to create a free account — the process takes under 60 seconds.

Confirm your access. Once inside, Canva will show you the shared design or workspace you’ve joined. You’re now a collaborator.

How to Accept a Canva Invitation on Desktop (Browser)

How to Accept a Canva Invitation on Mobile (iOS & Android)

Open the invitation email on your phone and tap Accept Invite.

How to Accept a Canva Team Invitation

Team invitations work a little differently from individual design invites — and they’re worth paying attention to if you’re joining an agency or company workspace.

Open the team invitation email. It will name the team or organization inviting you.

Click “Accept Invitation.” This takes you to Canva’s team onboarding page.

Create or log into your account using the email address that received the invite. This part is critical — if you log in with a different email, the invite won’t be linked to your account.

Select your role if prompted. Some teams configure their workspace so new members pick a role (designer, marketer, admin) during onboarding.

Ask the sender to resend the invite. From their Canva account, they can go to the design or team settings and re-send the invitation to your email address in under 30 seconds.

Check your Canva notifications. If you already have a Canva account, log in and look at the bell icon in the top-right corner. Pending invitations sometimes appear there depending on your notification settings.

Common Problems When Accepting a Canva Invite (And How to Fix Them)

The invite link says “expired.” Canva invite links expire after 7 days. Ask the original sender to resend a fresh invite. This takes seconds from their end.

You’re seeing “access denied” or “you don’t have permission.” This usually means you logged in with a different email than the one the invite was sent to. Log out, then log back in with the correct email address.
